Science Hill's New Cheerleading Squad

Did you all know Science Hill has a new cheerleading squad??

That's right!  Science Hill High School has selected nine cheerleaders as part of the new SHHS Cheer Squad.  This squad is comprised of students from the Special Needs Program on both the 10-12 and 8-9 campuses.  The cheerleaders practice once a week and make special appearances at Science Hill athletic events.  The squad is was co-founded by yours truly, along with my mom, Janet Drish.  My mom takes care of the business side and I have the pleasure of coaching these talented young women.

Since starting this squad in October, we have received such wonderful support from the Science Hill administration, faculty and students.  It seems at every practice, someone new stops by to show their support and cheer on the squad.  The varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders have also stopped by on occasion to teach the cheer squad a new chant that they can perform together during the basketball games.  It is so wonderful to see a school pulling together and supporting this new cheer squad; that is the true "Topper Spirit!"

The cheerleaders are so excited and are practicing very hard for their first appearance on December 11 at the Science Hill JV Basketball game.  If any of you are free next Saturday, I encourage you to come and suppport the JV basketball players as well as the cheer squad.  They will also be performing their dance routine during the half time of a varsity basketball game in mid-January.
